Naxx: Arachnid Quarter
The arachnid quarter isn’t particularly hard. The fights are entry-level fights for entry-level raiders. No heavy gear or special skills are required, just some basic encounter mechanics to be learned.
Anub’Rhekan
Abilities
- Impale (frontal line AoE towards 1 target, ~7k, knocks players in the air)
- Locust swarm (30yrd AoE silence + DoT around Anub’Rhekan)
- Crypt guards (spawning at the doors)
- Corpse scarabs (mini-adds spawning of crypt guard or player corpses)
The Fight
- MT engages Anub’Rhekan where he stands
- Raid positioned at left side of platform
- MT heal in the center
- OT picks up Crypt guards
- 1st Crypt guard after 20secs
- Locust swarm: MT runs around the right outer edge of the platform
- MT heal spam-heals tank
- MT continues to tank on opposite door
- More locust swarms: MT runs back & forth the same way
- AoE corpse scarabs
Faerlina
Abilities
- Poison bolt volley (poison on 3 players, 3k + 8sec 700dps dot, dispellable)
- Rain of fire (8yrd static AoE ~1200dps)
- Frenzy (+150% dmg, +50% haste, non-dispellable)
The Fight
- OT engages worshippers, tanks them on the platform
- MT picks out Faerlina
- OT brings one worshipper down to ~5%
- Frenzy: Kill the worshipper close to Faerlina (prevent Frenzy for 60secs)
Hint: If the Worshipper is killed before Frenzy is active it’s only prevented for 30secs instead of 60!
Maexxna
Abilities
- Web wrap (1 player webbed onto western wall, cocoon 6k life, ~1kdps)
- Web spray (raid-wide, 6sec stun)
- Poison shock (frontal cone AoE, ~4k)
- Necrotic poison (poison, -75% healing, dispellable)
- Spiderlings (8 mini-adds, ~7k life)
- Frenzy (at 30%, +50%dmg, +50%haste)
The Fight
- Position designated ranged-dps coccon-killers in range of western wall
- MT engage Maexxna, turn away from raid
- Cleanse poison immediately
- Kill cocoons immediately
- AoE Spiderlings
- Keep HoTs on tank for web wrap
- Save CDs for frenzy
